 Dated 4000 B.C.









Ancient Egyptian Sail Boats
Dated 2500 B.C.









 Phoenician Man Powered Boats - Dated - 1550 BC to 300 BC














VIKING LONG BOATS
DATED 1000 A.D. 
 These ships had Sails as well as up to 60 oarsmen who rowed the ship.














CHINESE JUNKS
DATED 1100 A.D.  
Sailing boats with a rudder for steering, Battens on sails, and watertight compartments 













THREE AND FOUR MASTED SAILING SHIPS
DATED - 1450 A.D.
Used as Battles ships and for transport purpose.


















CLIPPER SHIPS
DATED - 1800 A.D.
They had slim hull and tall masts.















STEAM SHIPS
DATED - 1807
First ever Steam ship was built by Robert Fulton and the name of the vessel was "CLERMONT" which was also called the North River Steam Boat which operated between New York and Albany





OCEAN GOIN STEAM SHIPS
DATED - 1819
SS Savannah was the first ever Ocean going Steam Ship.  It was a full-rigged sailing ship fitted with engines and side paddle wheels; during the crossing the engines were in use for about 80 hr.  Ships maiden voyage was bound from Savannah Harbor, Georgia, USA to Liverpool, England.





ORIGIN OF MOTOR SHIPS
DATED - 1912
M.V.SELANDIA was the first ever ocean going motor driven ship.  















ORIGIN OF WORLD'S LARGEST SHIP WITH WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL DIESEL ENGINE
DATED - 2010
Emma Maersk is currently the worlds largest ship which has a capacity of 14770 TEU and an Engine power of 109000 hp Wartsila 14RT-flex96c
